Odessa Sea Commercial Port is situated NW part of the Black Sea (46°32'N,  30° 54'Е)  on the historically founded merchant ways between East and West. It adjoins the city of Odessa — a large cultural, resort and industrial center of Ukraine .

Odessa port now is the third in cargo traffic among the ports of Black Sea region and handled 30,5M t in 2004.

Pan European transport corridor №9 approaches to the port of Odessa, as well as to the port of Ilyichevsk . The port has one of the best passenger terminals in Black Sea region, and will serve as one of the main bases for development of sea transportations and tourism in future.

Total TEUs handled: 1st quarter year 2004 — 41909, % increase to 1st quarter 2003 — 35,1%

Together with the port Yuzhniy, located near Odessa, which specializes basically on bulk and liquid cargoes, three ports of the ‘Large Odessa' (Odessa, Ilyichevsk, Yuzhniy) total have achieved cargo traffic more than 60M t per year and also provide turnover more than a half of cargo traffic of the ports of Ukraine.

Port capacities can handle up to 14 mln tons of dry-cargoes and about 24 mln tons of oil products annually. This non-freezing universal port accepts vessels up to 270 m length and up to 13,0 m draft.

Depending on volume of the vessel consignments and design features of the vessel the port ensures the following intensity of cargo works:

to loading:
slabs- about 15 thousand tons per day,
Bar — about 6–10 thousand tons per day,
Rod-about 5 thousand tons per day,
Armature — about 5 thousand tons per day,
Fertilizer — about 10 thousand tons per day;

to unloading:
Sugar — about 5–6 thousand tons per day,
Grain through elevator — about 10 thousand tons per day.

Special (free) Economic Zone «Porto-Franko» is located on the port Quarrantine Pier.

Stevedoring companies operating at the port handling complexes will provide you all services regarding handling and storage of your cargo. Your cargo may be delivered to and forwarded from the port by railway, motor, sea and river transport. For over 200 years the city has served as a large port and a perfect Black Sea resort.

Marine station located close to main city sightseeing is the biggest Passenger terminals in CIS countries with annual pax capacity about 4 mln people. There are Yacht complex, «Marine Gallery», St.Nilolay's Church, Concert and exhibition hall, tourists offices and other facilities at the Passenger terminal area.

Port is a member of prestige international Associations and is a base cruise port of Ukraine.
